The Brewers have released veteran infielder Mike Lamb. Lamb played in 26 games this spring for the Brewers in which he was 13 for 52 (.250 avg, .713 OPS) with 6 runs scored, 2 homers and 12 RBIs. The Brewers got rid of Lamb because Casey McGehee really stepped up this spring. McGehee has played in 25 games this spring for the Brewers going 20 for 58 (.345 avg, 1.028 OPS) with 9 runs scored, 6 homers and 15 RBIs. McGehee has a higher upside than Lamb so this was a good move for the Brewers.
